Derek Kilmer, State Representative

26th District

Derek Kilmer was born on the Olympic Peninsula, where he developed a great appreciation for our natural environment. He studied economic development and received a doctoral degree from University of Oxford in England and currently works for the Economic Development Board of Tacoma-Pierce County as the Business Retention Manager. His work experience, combined with his personal commitment to the environment, makes Derek an ideal candidate for protecting the environment and developing our economy.

Derek’s opponent, Lois McMahan, has a terrible environmental voting record. She voted against almost every single pro-environmental bill to come before the House. She voted against sustainable forestry (HB 2753), voted to roll back clean water protections (SB 5028), and worse yet, voted against a compromise bill supported by the business and environmental communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (HB 3141).
